Interactive Video for CNMT Website

CNMT Interactive Video (Click to play)

This is an interactive video I created with two fellow classmates for the new Computing and New Media Technologies website at UW-Stevens Point. The goal was to promote the Web and Digital Media Development (WDMD) program to prospective students. Instead of just rambling off information about the program, we decided to personalize it a bit more by explaining what the program meant to us and what we’ve gained from it heading into the future. Definitely something incoming students could relate to and connect with on a deeper level.

My contribution to this project includes the filming and capturing of all of the footage, the design (background), as well as any “effect” used (any moving object and everything else related to the video editing).

Once the video is done playing through, click on a person to hear some stories.

*NOTE* I am noticing that once in a while the video will freeze after the “first” set of people talk (click the person with the “W”). But most of the time, it seems to be working fine. After each video plays, it should go back to the ‘main’ scene.

Omega

Omega Molecular (Click to view)

This is an interactive Flash website built with 3 fellow students. The purpose of this project was to take a make believe company, Omega Molecular, and create it’s brand through a website (and “develop” one part of the website. In this case, it was the Map). We had to do extensive research on the company and then pitch our branding idea and website to the owner.

In this particular project, I spent most of my time creating the look and feel of the site. I designed the navigation bar at the bottom, designed the main background you see at the beginning with one other person, created some aspects of the map, and made the Omega Molecular video (which you can access by exploring the Map).

Software used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere.

Flash Essay

Another project from an introductory Flash course. The goal was to create a “story” (aka Flash “essay”) through Flash by trying to make a point about consumerism. I chose the idea of “Keepin’ up with the Jones’”. A lot of people feel that products define them and by having more and more, your status in the world gets higher. That may be true in some cases, but not without consequence. This was my first experience in adding interactivity in Flash. The buttons at the bottom correspond to a “scene”.

*Note: After the Walmart face appears, click “12″.

E-Card

This was my first project ever done in Adobe Flash. The assignment was to create a simple e-Card. At the time it was the middle of winter and everyone was longing for nice weather again, so I decided to make mine about summer.
